Along the walls of the foyer at Rijnstate Hospital, strips of poetry run past the working, waiting, and visiting people. Maria Barnas has created Virus Poetry, a work that weaves together information about illness with poetic reflections and observations of the hospital’s patient atmosphere. The installation runs through the heart of the hospital, occasionally interrupted by animated text virus that eats the words away.
